NOTE: The deadline for buildings in Community Districts 2, 5, 7, 13, and 18 in all boroughs has been extended! These buildings are not required to submit Gas Piping System Periodic Inspection Certifications until June 30, 2022

DEP Backflow Device Inspection

Buildings that have a backflow deivce installation is subject to have the device inspected annually. Inspections that fail to be filed are subject to penalties for failure to file annual inspections.

DOB Annual Boiler Inspection

Low-Pressure Boiler Inspections can only be performed by authorized boiler inspectors licensed by DOB or an authorized insurance company. The following low-pressure boilers must be inspected and an inspection report must be filed with DOB annually:

  • low-pressure boilers in residential buildings with six or more families
  • H-stamp boilers with an input of over 350,000 BTUs in residential occupancies 
  • H-stamp boilers in commercial and mixed-use buildings  
  • low-pressure boilers in any residential buildings classified as a Single Room Occupancy (SRO) dwellings

    NOTE: A mixed-use building has both commercial and residential units.

FDNY

FDNY systems in NYC are required by Fire code to be inspected monthly per maintenance plan. 


Fire Sprinkler and Standpipe systems must also be hydrostatically tested every 5 years
